Bridging Barriers: K1 Charitable Foundation’s Mission to Transform Girls’ Education in Kashmir

Pakistan is one of the countries in the world with a rising illiteracy rate, especially in poor areas, where education problems are even more serious. In a country where 60% of youth are illiterate and one in three women cannot read or write, K1 Charitable Foundation has been working hard to reverse this trend, especially to help girls who face huge barriers to education. Children often have to walk through rugged mountain roads to reach school. For many families, sending their children to school is a huge challenge. Girls, in particular, face more difficulties. Security issues, bad weather and an unstable political environment in the mountains put girls at constant risk on their way to school. Coupled with the difficult financial conditions of many families, girls’ education is often neglected, leaving their futures full of uncertainty.

K1 Charitable Foundation understands that to change the educational plight of Kashmiri girls, the most important thing is to provide practical educational resources and financial support. Therefore, we provide school supplies, textbooks and other educational resources to girls in Kashmir and help them hire tutors. Being able to study at home reduces the difficulty of traveling to school for a long time and avoids unsafe factors outside.
