With your generous support, K1 Charitable Foundation is providing much-needed clean drinking water to the residents of the Pakistani village of Thar to solve the chronic water shortage problem they face.
The Thar region, located in southern Pakistan, is a poor region that has suffered from chronic drought. Due to years of water shortage, villagers in Thar face severe water shortages, and clean water has become the biggest challenge to their survival. In order to deal with this problem, we decided to launch a water well digging project to dig water wells in multiple villages in Thar to ensure the provision of clean drinking water for about 12,000 people, while providing necessary water sources for local animals and birds, and improving the entire ecology environment.
challenge:
Water crisis in Thar. The Tharparkar region covers an area of more than 22,000 square kilometers and is a region that has been in a long-term state of poverty. Water shortage is the biggest challenge facing the region, and many villages still do not have stable water sources. Due to the extreme scarcity of water resources, villagers have to spend 4 to 6 hours a day fetching water from distant wells, and can only get four to five pots (about 50 to 60 liters) of water each time, which is far from enough to satisfy the entire family. The daily needs of the community, especially in the hot summer, put water resources under greater pressure.
Solution:
Digging water wells to provide sustainable drinking water In order to help the Tharparkar region solve this urgent water shortage problem, K1 Charitable Foundation decided to dig water wells in villages that do not have water wells. These wells will provide safe, clean drinking water to 12,000 people, which will not only improve the quality of life of local residents, but also help alleviate pressure on the ecological environment.
The construction of these wells will alleviate the burden, especially on women and children, who in the past had to trek for long periods of time to fetch water, wasting a lot of time and affecting social life and daily activities. What’s more serious is that many children have to give up their studies and miss out on educational opportunities because they have to bear the burden of fetching water.
Long term effects:
This project will bring far-reaching changes to the residents of Tharparkar district, especially women and children. The construction of water wells will greatly reduce the daily burden of women and children, so that they no longer need to walk for several hours every day to collect water. The time saved will be used for family, education and community activities. This not only allows children to continue their education, but also provides women with more opportunities to participate in community economic construction and enhance their social status. In addition, with improved water sources, the health of villagers will be significantly improved. For a long time, the lack of clean water sources has led to the spread of many water-borne diseases. With the introduction of safe drinking water, these problems will be effectively alleviated, and the overall health of the community will be significantly improved.
Through this project, the K1 Charitable Foundation has provided much-needed clean water to the Thar villagers and sown the seeds of hope for their future. The construction of water wells will help communities in Thar escape poverty, improve their quality of life and promote socio-economic development of the entire community. We believe that as this project continues to advance, the residents of Taal Village will be able to enjoy a healthier and more prosperous life.
